Nico Sabenorio is an award winning documentary and music video director with a passion to spread awareness of social issues through cinematic, emotional non-fiction films. A student of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, he was nominated twice for Best Video With a Message at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards for "The Fighter" by Gym Class Heroes and "Ballad of Hollis Brown" by Rise Against. An interactive exhibit was recently erected in Grand Central Station, New York, as part of The Partnership at DrugFree.org's Medicine Abuse Project, featuring an oversized prescription pill bottle and the heartfelt documentary-style spots from Nico's current anti-drug campaign. Nico has explored such topics as human trafficking, agricultural poverty, prescription drug abuse and crystal meth. His film, Bout that Bout, which explores youth violence in a small town trailer park, won Best Short Documentary at the 2010 Slamdance Film Festival.
